Credit Suisse

Complete renovation of Credit Suisse building with bank branch on the ground floor and offices, living on the upper floors.

The Credit Suisse branch on Untere Rebgasse is located in a building dating from 1956 in an ideal location near the Claraplatz traffic and pedestrian junction in Kleinbasel.

The task resulting from a competition included the renovation of the property, the building shell and the building services. The counter hall was transformed into a flowing customer hall whose eye-catcher is the opening space under the newly built atrium. Transparent, flexibly playable rooms were created in the bank, which allow for open communication appropriate to today's times. The attic apartment received a new layout. The existing kitchen was supplemented with new elements and repainted. Various surfaces inside the apartment and on the terrace were renewed.

The existing arcade was newly combined into a two-story, striking entrance, which gives the building its identity. Due to the limited space available on the Allmend, it simultaneously assumes the functions of canopy, bank and tenant entrance.

The building was renovated to the Minergie-P standard.
