Conversion of a commercial and apartment building into a spacious detached house.
The former business and apartment building from the 1920s placed in Riehen was converted into a family home with a generous living / dining area on the ground floor, bedrooms and bathrooms on the upper floors as well as cellar, technical and hobby room in the basement.
The house was completely renovated and the interior and exterior space newly defined as a home for a family. The former storey on the mezzanine floor was connected as an open living space with the outside space in the front yard and backyard. In the back garden, a generous, accessible from the living room seat with a pergola was created.
The front garden also accessed from the living room was slightly raised as a gravel bed and separated with side walls in the seat height of the guest access and from the driveway with carport and Schopf. The conclusion of the front garden to the road is a 1.8 m high steel sheet with door to the guest entrance and sliding gate on the carport side.
