Installation of a multi-space office in a square floor plan with a formerly dark central zone.
A massive core with a dark surrounding corridor characterizes the structure of 16-storey laboratory building from the 70’s.
The main focus of the conversion of the lab floor in a multi-space office was based on the opening of this dark inner zone to the light of the outside lying facade. The opening of the massive core and elimination of the corridor wall by translucent wall panels in between the columns. The meeting rooms in the core were opened through floor to ceiling glazing with views through the space. The conversion took place during operation of the adjacent floors.
