HANS FREI is an architect from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich, which focuses on theoretical and conceptual questions of architecture. In 1989, he received a doctorate from the University of Zurich. Together with Cornel Näf (AA hons), he founded the architectural office, m22 '. He taught at several universities (among others Bartlett School of Architecture London, University of Kassel, ETH Zurich). His texts have appeared in AAFiles, arch +, Werk, Bauen & Wohnen and the NZZ. His last texts dealt with digitization: the ideal city of the 21st century; The Laplace’ian Daemon of Digitization; Efficient - but not urban at all; From The Internet of Things to Smart City.
