Sieglinde Geisel
Sieglinde Geisel studied German and theology in Zurich and Berlin. She has lived as a freelance journalist in Berlin since 1988, where she writes mainly about cultural and social issues. In the early nineties, she travelled extensively in Eastern Europe for a series of city portraits, spent six months in Lublin (Poland) and was the cultural correspondent for the Neue Zürcher Zeitung in New York from 1994 to 1998. In 1999, she returned to Berlin, where she now lives with her family and reports on cultural life in the German capital for the NZZ. In 2010 she published 'Nur im Weltall ist es wirklich still. Vom Lärm und der Sehnsucht nach Stille' (Galiani-Verlag, Berlin).
