The responsible city

Gerhard Schmitt is Professor of Information Architecture at ETH Zurich, Speaker of the 'Responsive Cities' Scenario at the Future Cities Laboratory and Founding Director of the Singapore-ETH Centre. His research focuses on urban simulation, smart cities and the linking of big data and urban design. The 'Massive Open Online Courses' developed in the Information Architecture team since 2014 reach more than 50,000 students in 165 countries. Gerhard Schmitt has represented ETH Zurich's globalisation strategy with the ETH Global Team as Delegate of the President since 2008.
