History and function of libraries

Uwe Jochum joined the higher library service in 1989 after completing his studies and doctorate and has worked as a specialist librarian ever since. He is interested in questions of library and media history, which he tries to open up to theology. He was one of the initiators of the 'Heidelberger Appell' (2009), and in 2012 he received the Media Ethics Award in the Magazine category from the Stuttgart Media University for an article in 'Lettre International'. His most recent publications are the essay 'Medienkörper' (Wallstein-Verlag, 2014) and 'Bücher. From papyrus to e-book' (Wissenschaftliche Buchgesellschaft, 2015).
