Philippe Stadler Benz and Lukas Ott
Philippe Stadler is Head of the Smart City SBB programme. Previously, he worked as an environmental specialist and sub-programme manager for SBB's corporate energy-saving programme. As an environmental scientist with an ETH degree, Philippe Stadler is trained to structure and manage complex topics and issues. His further training in policy and business management enables him to design and implement strategies for the application of new technologies.
Lukas Ott, lic. phil., studied sociology, art history and botany at the University of Basel. As a publicist and consultant, he was the owner of an office for political research and communication from 1997 to 2017. From 1987 to 1996, he was a member of the cantonal parliament of Basel-Landschaft and from 2000 to 2017, he was a city councillor and then mayor of Liestal. From 2006 to 2012, Lukas Ott was also a judge at the procedural court for criminal matters in the canton of BL. Since December 2017, he has been Head of Cantonal and Urban Development Basel-Stadt with the specialist departments Fundamentals and Strategies, Housing Development, Neighbourhood Development and Diversity and Integration.
