Credit Suisse Claraplatz

The Credit Suisse branch on Untere Rebgasse is located in a building dating back to 1956 in an ideal location at the traffic and pedestrian hub of Claraplatz in Kleinbasel.

The task resulting from a competition included the refurbishment of the property, the building envelope and the building services. The counter hall was transformed into a flowing customer hall, the eye-catcher of which is the opening space under the newly created atrium. Transparent, flexible spaces were created in the bank, allowing for open, modern communication. The top floor flat was given a new layout. The existing kitchen was supplemented with new elements and repainted. Various surfaces inside the flat and on the terrace were renewed.

The existing arcade was reorganised into a striking two-storey entrance that gives the building its identity. Due to the limited space on the Allmend, it also serves as a canopy, bank and tenant entrance.

The building was refurbished to the Minergie-P standard.
