The Swiss International School (SIS) Basel is a bilingual, private all-day school that accompanies students from kindergarten to upper secondary level. With lessons in German and English, the school attaches great importance to a balanced education that combines academic training with the personal development of the children.

With the opening of the school on the Main Campus of the Switzerland Innovation Park site designed by Herzog & de Meuron, families now have the opportunity to take their children to school not far from their own workplace.

We were commissioned by Senn Resources AG to carry out the tenant fit-out for SIS in Building D and developed a well thought-out room concept that includes classrooms of various sizes as well as music and exercise rooms and a kitchen.

The colorful design is particularly striking: walls in bright orange and green set powerful accents that create a deliberate contrast to the minimalist concrete architecture. Oak window frames add a warm, contemporary touch to the minimalist design. Another eye-catching feature is the circular play corner, which can be partitioned off with a curtain. The round shape, combined with lime green flooring and flowing fabric curtains, creates a beautiful contrast to the clean lines of the other rooms and offers pupils a cozy place to retreat.
