A data centre has been added to Markant's rapidly growing German site in Offenburg and is to be extended over the next few years to include an office, reception and meeting building.
The building envelope, consisting of a painted thermal insulation composite system, will be wrapped in an anthracite-coloured membrane cladding together with the technical exterior spaces and visually combined into a single structure.
Construction of the data centre to the north-west of the main building began in June 2013 and the symmetrically designed building has been successively handed over to the IT company, which is responsible for the expansion of the data centre itself, since the end of 2013. The official inauguration took place in September 2014. The two additional sub-projects, car parks and data centre coupling, have also been completed in the meantime.
