In recent years, rapid technological progress has sparked a broad social debate about the future of work. There seems to be a consensus that we will work fundamentally differently in the future than we do today. However, attitudes towards the future of work are less uniform. Advances in robotics and artificial intelligence will lead to a large proportion of our work being taken over by machines. Many professions that we know today will disappear. However, this revolution will not only destroy jobs, but also create new ones.
Flexibility is the magic word of the digital world of work. Thanks to modern communication technologies, it is possible to work independently of time and place. A fixed workplace is no longer necessary, partly because it often remains deserted for a variety of reasons. In order to optimise fixed costs, companies are increasingly tending to optimise their work and office spaces. The number of desks provided is increasingly falling short of the number of employees. What other unusual workspaces are there? What and how and in which rooms will we be working in twenty years' time? Together with our speakers, we will get to the bottom of these questions from different angles.
